DGPT Offseason Is Here: GYROpalooza 2026, a Huge Free-Agent Class and What Comes Next
The tour season is over, Black Friday boxes are approaching and one of disc golf's deepest contract classes is about to reshape the professional game.
The final putt started the next season
The 2026 Disc Golf Pro Tour season ended at Ivy Hill with a finale built for headlines. Gannon Buhr won MPO at 46 under, Silva Saarinen took the FPO title and each champion earned $50,000 from a $350,000 purse.
After 23 tournaments, the standings are final—but the sport has already moved into an offseason full of releases, contract decisions and a 2027 calendar worth studying.
That is what makes this stretch so interesting. Tournament results stop for a few months, but manufacturers, players and fans do not. New molds arrive, sponsorship lineups change and players start deciding which parts of their bags will survive the winter.
Here is the Blue Jay guide to the biggest confirmed stories, the rumors that still need patience and the dates that matter next.
GYROpalooza 2026: what is actually in the box
MVP's GYROpalooza box returns for Black Friday on November 27, 2026. The standard 11-disc box has a $129.95 suggested price, with some retailers listing preorders at $119.95.
It combines four Special Edition discs, two R2 Neutron discs and five Lab Seconds. A 17-disc brick-and-mortar version is also expected at $159.95 and includes the exclusive Proton Autopilot.
The headline is the Prototype GYRO-X Beam, currently described with tentative flight numbers of 10/6/-0.5/1 and a broad 145-to-175-gram weight range. The other featured molds are the Neutron Mass at a tentative 4/2/0/3, the Particle Proton Control at 10/5/-0.5/2 and the Streamline Proton Soft Turbulence at 7/2/0/3.5. One hundred Golden Tickets will also be distributed for MVP's 2027 Marlette event.
Limited boxes are fun, but they are only useful if the discs fit your throw. BlueJayDG may not carry every special release.
The live rack and Disc Finder remain the better starting point when you want an exact photo, known weight and a flight that fills a specific job instead of a surprise assortment.
| Disc | Expected flight | Why it stands out |
|---|---|---|
| Prototype GYRO-X Beam | 10 / 6 / -0.5 / 1 (tentative) | A controllable prototype driver with unusually high glide |
| Neutron Mass | 4 / 2 / 0 / 3 (tentative) | A low-speed, torque-resistant approach option |
| Particle Proton Control | 10 / 5 / -0.5 / 2 | A stable control driver in a distinctive Proton blend |
| Streamline Proton Soft Turbulence | 7 / 2 / 0 / 3.5 | A low-glide, overstable fairway for wind and placement shots |
Why this free-agent class could change the tour
An independent 2027 sponsorship tracker counted roughly 130 to 140 contracts scheduled to expire, which would make this one of the largest free-agent classes the sport has seen.
The list includes major winners, established veterans and young players who can move both tournament results and disc sales.
Among the most closely watched names are Gannon Buhr, Eveliina Salonen, Ezra Robinson, Ohn Scoggins, Ella Hansen, Silas Schultz, Aaron Gossage, Catrina Allen, Adam Hammes, Paul Ulibarri, Mauri Villmann, Casey White, Kyle Klein and Albert Tamm.
An expiring agreement does not mean a player is leaving; it means the next agreement has not yet been publicly confirmed.
One decision is official. Innova announced on October 24 that Rebecca Don extended her agreement and will move to Team Champion on January 1, 2027.
Other destinations—especially Buhr's—remain rumor until the player or manufacturer announces them. In a fast offseason, the professional approach is simple: separate confirmed contracts from social-media speculation.
Dates to circle for 2027
The 2027 schedule preserves a demanding late-season run. The Green Mountain Championship is scheduled for September 16–19, followed by the MVP Open x OTB on September 23–26 and the USDGC on October 7–10.
The DGPT Playoffs return to Ivy Hill October 14–17, the Kansas City Wide Open follows October 21–24 and the Powerball Cup closes the season in Austin from November 4–7.
Those dates matter before the first tee time. They show where contracts, travel planning and late-season form will be tested.
For fans, they also create a useful viewing roadmap: New England golf in September, championship pressure in October and another high-stakes finale in November.

The Blue Jay offseason plan
Offseason bag building should begin with honest observation. Which disc did you avoid when the wind rose? Which fairway driver consistently landed in the center?
Which two molds produced the same flight? Removing overlap can improve a bag more than adding another high-speed driver.
Use winter rounds and field work to test one variable at a time: weight, stability, plastic or speed. The BlueJayDG rack shows the exact disc, its current eBay price, condition and flight information so you can compare real options instead of shopping from a generic stock photo.
If you are unsure where to begin, the Disc Finder can narrow the live inventory by experience, throwing power and the shot you need.
The professional tour will return with new uniforms, new bags and new storylines. Your own offseason does not need a blockbuster signing. One well-chosen disc—and enough time to learn it—can be the most important addition you make.
Compare exact photos, price, condition and flight numbers in the live inventory—or join the Flight List for new drops and field notes.
